Hi everyone, I suppose I should supply a bit of information about my self for those who are interested. I am from New Zealand, I am a student currently studying at AUT (Auckland University of Technology) for my Bachelor of Computer and Information Sciences. My major will be Software Development. I've got 2 more years to go to finish but 2 years is nothing it fly's by before you even know it.

The reason I made this site is to organise all my work in one location, At the moment I have my work scattered all over the place on CDs, Hard drives, and online. I hope also this will help me get a job in the near future as a Web Developer.

I have too many interests and not enough time for them all but my main love is with computers, I enjoy working with them and figuring out how things work and how to build them especially with computer programs. The web is a challenge for me as there is always new technologies coming out around the corner and as new standards get revised you have to keep up or get left behind. I work on the computer everyday and I am always gaining new skills and knowledge about the web.

OBJECTIVE: WEB DEVELOPER

SUMMARY

I am looking to get a start on my career as a Web Developer working with current and future Web Technologies. After studying a course in Multimedia and Graphic design and then moving on the IT side of things I've decided this is where I want to be.

GRAPHIC DESIGN & MULTIMEDIA

Since doing my Multimedia course at Carich in 2003 I have learned to use very powerful drawing and image manipulation tools including Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Freehand. Skills I have obtained are image restoration/manipulation, Interface design from sketch to final output. I have done a project working with Macromedia Director 8 in 2004 working with sound, text and images to help produce a learning video.

WEB PROGRAMMING

I am proficient in PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, XHTML, CSS and I am well accustomed to building web sites to W3C Web Standards. I can work with and produce Div style layouts that are the preferred way of laying out websites as opposed to tables. I have also some good exposure to Ajax based websites using the Ext Framework.

OTHER PROGRAMMING

I have had exposure to Object Oriented Programming in Java using Blue J as a learning tool in a Programming 1 Paper I did at AUT.

HARDWARE AND NETWORKING

I have good knowledge of hardware and basic knowledge of network configurations.

OPERATING SYSTEMS

I have been using Windows for most of my early career with computers but recently during my Diploma in IT course from AUT I have done two OS papers that covers Linux. The past year and a half since getting a MacBook Pro laptop I have been working under MAC OS X.
